How often I have enjoyed the loving gaze of my animals, their beautiful eyes staring intently showing unconditional love, devotion and companionship. Those amazing eyes are precious to both the owners and the animals. Ever wonder what is the best way to care for your animals eyes, helping protect them from harm and disease, ensuring a long life of good vision? What are the warning signs that something may be wrong? What breeds are at the highest risk for eye problems? What really can our beloved animals see?
Catherine Bradford, host of Everything Animal welcomes local veterinarian Dr. Victoria Jones, who specializes in Animal Opthalmology to her show. Dr. Jones is a well known, well respected 'eye expert' in the Seattle area and helps families understand what they can do to keep their animals safe from unwanted eye disorders. Maintaining a private practice in Kirkland, WA. Dr. Jones and her incredible staff have helped thousands of animals and their beautiful eyes.

Guest Bio:

Dr. Jones (formerly Dr. Grevan) earned her veterinary degree in 1992 at the University of Illinois, where she graduated as the valedictorian of her class. She then completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Cornell University. From 1993-1997, Dr. Jones completed a comparative ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri. The residency was combined with a graduate program and in 1997, Dr. Jones received her Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery for the study of diagnostic testing for feline herpesvirus. The same year, Dr. Jones passed her board examinations on the first attempt and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (DACVO).

Dr. Jones has been an author or co-author on several ophthalmology articles and has been the sole author of two book chapters in the field of veterinary ophthalmology. Her special interests within the field of veterinary ophthalmology include corneal and intraocular surgery and ocular manifestations of systemic disease.

On a more personal note, Dr. Victoria Jones is originally from the Chicago area. She practiced in West Palm Beach, Florida for 1.5 years before moving to Washington to start Northwest Animal Eye Specialists. Family is everything to her. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with her kids and her pets. She has identical twin sons, Connor and Matthew, who were born in November of 2006. Her other "kids" include her two Australian Shepherds (sisters Maddie and Jilly) and her three cats (Ralph, Dipstick, and Willy Wonka).
