Keeping Hope Alive

In what appears to be month after month of continued struggles, both at home and abroad, it is no wonder that many people find themselves losing hope; falling victim to negative thoughts and feelings of depression and doubt. As our economy continues to exhibit signs of stress, politicians continue yelling and screaming about what they believe is 'right for Americans', as we witness the continuation of two wars abroad and natural disasters bringing death, destruction and misery to the already impoverished, it isn't surprising that most of us find it extremely difficult to remain optimistic, and hopeful.

It is times like these, however, that test our faith, demanding us to hold on firmly to our resolve and our belief in a better way, in a  brighter tomorrow, in a better world.

As our wisdom keepers and spiritual leaders teach, peace, abundance and prosperity does not manifest through doubt, negative thinking or feelings of disempowerment. History has shown that our greatest leaders struggled throughout their lives, sometimes to the very end, but they never gave up hope.

The beauty of hope remains in its simplicity and extraordinary accessibility. It is free for the taking, as much or as little as you choose. Hope is eternal and will outlast any political debate, any manmade war, any devastation resulting from natural disasters. Hope has but one request, that you take it into your heart, you live with it in your spirit, you reveal it in your actions.
And so, it is with this request that I ask you not to give up hope. Not to let go of your dreams or your eagerness for change nor for your belief that you alone can make a difference. Do not forget the power of one, the accomplishments of many and the reality that we are what we think.
